Food law consulting
The legally compliant composition and labeling of foodstuffs has developed over time into a very complex topic, which not only ties up more and more resources in companies, but also keeps courts and lawyers increasingly busy. The cross-border movement of goods should actually be simplified by standardized legislation within the EU-CH, but local interpretations of the laws repeatedly pose problems for producers when they offer their goods in other European countries. For example, some illustrations are considered misleading in one member state, although they are absolutely customary in another member state; differences in the interpretation of the "QUID rules" also lead to problems time and again.
The Eurofins Group employs experts with many years of experience in food labeling, who are always up to date through participation in various committees and regular training. This makes it possible to provide companies with competent advice at any time and to guide them through the jungle of labeling regulations. Due to its international structure, Eurofins can offer this service in many EU countries and have food labeling tested in the respective countries of destination by employees who are familiar with the national interpretation of the directives and regulations from daily practice. Food products (which includes dietary supplements) sold through online stores must meet the same labeling requirements as products sold through retail stores.
